




Professor Muhammad Omar Shaikh
Founder and Director of ANT Lab
Muhammad Omar Shaikh is a Professor of Sustainability Science and Management at Tunghai University, Taiwan. He holds a BEng and MEng in Materials Science and Engineering from Imperial College London and a PhD in Mechatronic Science and Engineering from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
He specializes in cutting-edge nanotechnologies for healthcare and energy. His innovative work includes developing biosensors for point-of-care diagnostics, tactile sensors for robotics, advanced gas sensors, wearable energy harvesters, and technologies for solar fuels and CO2 capture and utilization.
Committed to interdisciplinary research, he is passionate about emerging disruptive technologies that drive Industry 4.0 and support the circular economy, striving to unlock new value and advance sustainable solutions.
